Understanding Scott County Inmate Release
A person can leave the Scott County Detention Center without entering the community. The jail record may show bond, recognizance, a court order, time served, sentence expiration, transfer, a detainer pickup, or another disposition. A state-classified person can move from the Georgetown jail to a Kentucky Department of Corrections institution or contract jail. Federal or immigration custody can also begin when local custody ends. The word “released” must therefore be read with the receiving agency and release type.

That absence does not distinguish a true community release from a transfer, correction, escape, or movement on a hold. Scott County Release Paths
Scott County records use categories that have different legal and practical effects. A court order may authorize release before jail staff finish hold checks and book-out work. A transfer may close the Scott booking even though confinement continues. Match the label to the booking episode rather than treating every departure as freedom from custody.

Scott County Bond Release Routes
The detention center's inmate-services page says bonds can be posted there at any hour and describes full cash, ten-percent partially secured, unsecured or surety arrangements, plus locally labeled procedures tied to alcohol-intoxication matters. Its legacy wording should be confirmed by telephone before anyone pays or travels. Staff still must match the order, verify payment or a signer, check other cases and holds, and complete book-out.
Property bonds follow a different local route. The facility page directs them to the Scott Circuit Court Clerk at 119 North Hamilton Street during weekday clerk hours, not to the jail. Call the clerk at 502-863-0474 and the detention center at 502-863-7880 for current instructions. This split explains why both a court record and jail record may be needed even when the ordinary description is simply “bonded out.”
Fields in a Scott County Release Record
A useful release record identifies the person and the exact booking, states when Scott County's physical custody ended, gives the authority or reason, and shows whether another custodian received the person. Charges and bond data supply context but cannot replace the actual book-out field. Ask for existing fields and documents rather than asking the custodian to create an explanation.

Confirm the accepted submission method first because the elected jailer's records and general county records may have different custodians.
- Supply the full name, a useful identifier, approximate booking date, and booking number if known.
- Ask for the existing booking and release record, including book-in and release times, release type or authority, destination, detainers, and the booking photograph if needed.
- Request an electronic copy in its existing form and ask for an advance estimate of allowed copying charges.
- Ask the custodian to identify the statute applied to any withheld part and to provide reasonably separable public fields.
- Keep the written response with the matching court order, especially when timing or destination is disputed.
The Scott County open-records page supplies an online route, the OAG-01 form, and a general county-custodian fallback. Kentucky's Act generally calls for a written decision within five business days under KRS 61.880. Production may take longer when the agency gives a proper statutory explanation. No verified flat Scott jail copying fee was found, so request an estimate instead of assuming a price.
Kentucky Law and Scott Release Files
The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, provides the basic agency-record framework. A specific request lets the custodian decide access under the statute. It should not promise that every photograph or field will be produced.
Scott Records After Kentucky Expungement
Kentucky uses a statewide expungement process rather than a Scott-only removal system. A sealed or expunged case can alter what appears in court and distributed agency searches, but no result does not prove expungement. Other explanations include spelling, a different court division, restricted juvenile material, a corrected identity, or a record outside the online date range.
The Court of Justice process begins with eligibility and certification, then uses the petition and rules applicable to the disposition and offense. KRS Chapter 431 controls major parts of that process. The effect, wait, cost, and eligibility vary, so use the current official forms and seek legal help for an individual case. A completed order can direct courts and covered agencies to remove or delete records, while restricted order information may remain under law.
Search for a Released Scott County Inmate
Begin with the agency that owned custody. The county jail, KDOC, BOP, and ICE do not share one universal release list. Use identifiers from the relevant Scott booking or case, then seek a positive status. A live roster answers who appears in custody now; it is not a complete archive of people who left.
- Search the official Scott JailTracker tenant and compare the booking number and charges. If the name is absent, call the jail and ask whether the booking ended by release or transfer.
- Find the Scott District or Circuit Court case. Read the bond, dismissal, judgment, probation, sentence-credit, or revocation event that supplied authority.
- For a felony state sentence or possible supervision, search KOOL using a minimal name and narrow with DOC or PID number, age, conviction county, or supervision fields.

Search KDOC Records for Scott Releases
Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, or KOOL, covers the state corrections and supervision system. It does not include every brief Scott misdemeanor or pretrial booking. A Scott conviction can also lead to placement far outside the county. Read “Current Location” in context: an institution or jail suggests custody, while “District 14 - Versailles, Woodford County” may describe Scott County community supervision. Conviction county, booking county, current placement, and supervision county are separate fields, so do not narrow a search to Scott too soon.

Scott County Has No Fixed Release Feed
As of the July 19, 2026 research date, Scott County, Kentucky did not publish a verified separate list for people released during the last 24 or 72 hours. The official inmate gateway opens a county-specific cloud JailTracker tenant geared to current custody. No official update interval or post-release retention promise was found, so descriptions such as “real time,” “hourly,” or “kept for three days” would be unsupported.

The gateway is useful for locating the official current system, but a past release still calls for jail confirmation or a release-record request.
Match Scott Release Records to Court Orders
Scott release verification can cross two court levels. District Court generally handles misdemeanors, traffic matters, and early felony proceedings. Circuit Court handles felony prosecutions and other matters within its jurisdiction. Both route local record access through the Scott Circuit Court Clerk, so match county, division, case number, party, and booking episode.
The court file explains legal authority through a bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, probation order, shock-probation order, revocation, or custody-credit entry. It normally cannot prove the exact time staff completed release or whether another hold caused a transfer. The jail record supplies that operational event. A court event and detention-center record should agree on the person and case even when their timestamps differ.
Scott County Supervision After Release
Probation, parole, mandatory reentry supervision, and final discharge are different statuses. Kentucky does not advertise a separate public Scott probation-client search. KOOL is the public starting point, using Supervision Status, County of Supervision, Current Location, and any abscond notation. An old parole date or conviction does not establish current supervision.
Scott County belongs to KDOC Probation and Parole District 14, based at 80 Thomas Lane in Versailles. That multi-county office can appear in a Scott offender's KOOL location without indicating incarceration in Woodford County. Confirm a matched state record with the DOC or PID number and ask only what status the agency can publicly provide.
VINE, Federal, and ICE Release Checks
Kentucky VINE can carry a local jail record and a separate KDOC record for one person. Search both and register on both when they exist. Its release, transfer, escape, and advanced-release alerts are prompts to verify with the named agency, not certified release documents. “DOC Advanced Release” means a release is scheduled within fourteen days, not that it has happened.
For federal custody, the BOP locator can show a historical prisoner as “Released” with a date or “Not in BOP custody.” Confirm the prosecution and judgment in PACER because a person may instead be with the Marshals, another authority, or on supervised release. An ICE detainer can turn a Scott book-out into a transfer. ICE's locator covers current detainees and people released from ICE custody within its stated recent window, so an old no-match proves little.

The correct source follows the custody type. Start with a public portal when one exists, but obtain the record that affirmatively describes release, transfer, or supervision when the distinction matters.
